Cavalier Info

Welcome to Jimary Cavalier Info.If your interest is the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel this is the page for you! We would like to begin this page with a small history of this gentle breed.

The Cavalier gets this part of it's name from the English King by the name of King Charles II (Known as the Cavalier King). His first parliament was known as the Cavalier Parliament. When the breed was named in 1925 it became known as "The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel" previously known as the "Spaniel Gentle" in many pictures of English lords and ladies. (gentle is a most fitting nomenclature)

The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel comes in 4 different colors:

The Blenheim:   rich chestnut markings on a pearly white ground.

The Tricolor:  Jet black markings on a pearly white ground and the third color as highlights in a rich tan over the eyes on cheeks, inside of ears and underside of tail.

Ruby:   Whole rich colored red.

Black and Tan:  Jet black with rich tan markings over eyes ,on cheeks, inside ears, on chest, legs and underside of tail.

The Blenheim has a sought after distinctive special thumb print marking on the top of it's head known as a (lozenge).
